Set in the lush green backdrop of Anjuna Beach, Goa to design 4 villas on a 14000 sq.ft. plot with ancestral Mango trees was a challenging job

The concept of this project was a merge between local Portuguese style of architecture with a touch of modern interpretation. Research and study of the architectural style brought in a fusion of the two peculiar styles

Arches, moldings, roof, balconies, window projections, windows, planters, plantation and various smaller elements define the style. Maintaining the trees and to acquire the numbers, we designed 2 types which could be staggered in the layout on the site.

The type A and type B villa were designed to reflect as individual houses with personal parking, lawn, deck and entrance to each but at the central junction it shared a large pool with common decks connecting each other like a central courtyard. The Villa Type A1 and A2 are placed adjacent to each other and across from the B1 and B2 divided by central deck courtyards, plantation and levels, staggering the openings to maintain privacy and creating interactive voids.

The planning of both the type of villas is similar. The entrance porch opens up in the living room a double height volume, expanding onto the deck and into the pool. The Dining is planned within the kitchen and opens up onto the deck for easy access to the pool. The bedroom on the ground overlooks the lawn at the back. The first floor holds two bedrooms and a family/ entertainment room which opens onto a balcony overlooking the pool.
