Clients Brief – In today’s modern living, a brief received from a family of 3 is of a strict Minimal and clutter free living, engaging one’s maximum time with the outdoors and an individual library.

Concept Note - With a simple and direct brief, we have planned a flexible layout to achieve natural set up of light and ventilation merging the landscape pockets on the terrace into the living spaces.

Each space was designed to narrate a story of each user in the house.

Design Process – Pune city is liberal with its Terrace spaces. This emphasis of open spaces opened larger avenues to achieve the brief. Re planning the existing site with an open end, gave us a condition where we could introduce a Covered terrace area connecting the bedroom and the balcony. This space was carved out of the covered floor space to achieve a solitude nook for the client with his books and music. This bedroom offers a library running along the bedside, a raised wooden platform casually subdued its presence.

Living room sets a semiformal space opening up onto a water body, which is a transition from the entry to the living room connecting through a medium. Each space spills out onto a landscape feature is what would be rightly said for this house upcoming in the midst of Pune and its new skyline. An open plan allows easy flow from one function to another.

Bedroom 1 is a play of planes. The major focus being its rear wall with the surfaces inspired from origami, the planes are given varying levels to create a sense of volumetric play on a plain surface. Keeping in mind the growing age of the parents the room is maintained clean with a touch of contemporary for a couple who is light at heart.
