A 900 sq.ft. site on the ground floor of a commercial building located in the business hub of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.
Me so happi is a restaurant which started off with a nostalgic food memory of our clients childhood.
Our design strategy was woven around considering the story of a child who urges to grow up and when a grown up, we miss our childhood.
A fresh splash of colors and bold patterns built a relation of nostalgia to our present.
The Vibrant patterned flooring adds play and softens the solidity of the wooden furniture, reflecting a similarity from her Mangalore house.
The furniture is strategically planned with a set of high and low seating. The wooden furniture is built from recycled wood procured from the staircase of the ship dismantled at Alang Port and styled with curved brackets. The furniture placement and design lets one enjoy the textures of the brick of the Happy Wall and colors and comfort of the fabrics.
Happi wall holds memories and mischiefs placed on shelves, art wall and a telephone booth kitchen door, all swing along to weave that story together.
A casual ambience in this space brings out the child within one to unfold at the bold playful screen that separates the sophisticated fine dine space (the captain’s table)and holds niches and shelves to display happy elements.
