Cube House
Cube house is a community housing comprising of 40 row houses of 3200 sq.ft. each on a sprawling 3.5 acre land in Boisar, Maharashtra. The plot is surrounded by mountains and a river.
A simple geometry structure inspired by a ‘Cubist Art’ was the concept of the architecture. A cube carved and crafted horizontally and vertically in volume, forming spaces connecting the inside outside.

Cube house is a community housing comprising of 40 row houses of 3200 sq.ft. each on a sprawling 3.5 acre land in Boisar, Maharashtra. The plot is surrounded by mountains and a river.
A simple geometry structure inspired by a ‘Cubist Art’ was the concept of the architecture. A cube carved and crafted horizontally and vertically in volume, forming spaces connecting the inside outside.
The idea was to plan a prototype by re modeling a Row house planning multiple open spaces for every function maximizing the light and ventilation in each space.
Combining these prototypes, a cluster is built. The cluster is organized along the periphery leaving the central space open for club house and community gathering.
Each house has an open plan connecting every function in all three axis. The Common spaces planned on the ground connect to the upper floors through the double height core and into the backyard through the kitchen.
The service shaft runs vertically, with 2 bedrooms planned on either side of the double height on the first floor. Each bedroom has a private terrace enabling third axis to open up for light and ventilation.
Master bedroom on the second floor has a balcony on the rear side overlooking the terrace of the first floor and a large terrace on the front-side.
